The Duchess made a surprise appearance
Meghan Markle made a surprise appearance at The Fashion Awards in London to present her good friend and the artistic director of Givenchy, Clare Waight Keller, with the award for British Womenswear Designer of the Year.
“It’s such a pleasure to be here, celebrating British fashion and British designers in my new home of the U.K.,” explained the Duchess, as she took to the stage dressed in an elegant one-shoulder Givenchy gown which showed off her growing baby bump. “When you choose to wear a certain designer, we’re not just a reflection of their creativity and their vision but we’re also an extension of their values,” added Markle, praising Keller’s “creativity and incredible kindness.”

Since choosing a gown designed by Keller for her wedding to Prince Harry in May, the Duchess has proved loyal to the designer by wearing her creations on numerous occasions.
As she accepted her award, Keller thanked Markle saying, “This woman is so amazing. I got to know Meghan on such a personal level, and to have someone like that trust you in an incredible moment in their life is just such an unbelievable honour and I can’t thank you enough.”
