Berets, bare shoulders, and a gaze towards the horizon all speak to one thing – sailing on the Mediterranean
After being named as a Chanel ambassador in July, Oscar-winning actress Penélope Cruz has set sail on her maiden voyage for Chanel, photographed by Karl Lagerfeld for the brand’s 2019 cruise collection.
The black-and-white images show the actress dressed in designs from the label’s nautical-themed cruise collection (including berets, luxe knits and backless evening dresses). In one image, Cruz wears a checked tweed beret and a sweater embellished with the words La Pausa, which is the name of a villa in the South of France built by Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel in the early 1930s.

Shown at the French capital’s Grand Palais in May in front of a life-sized cruise liner, the Chanel cruise 2019 collection will take to the runways for a second time on October 31 in Bangkok, Thailand.
