An image of a young Ali McGraw set the inspiration for Alberta Ferretti’s latest collection, showcased during Menswear Fashion Week in Milan yesterday. Joyous tones from citrus orange, lemon yellow and cherry red in bountiful and airy silhouettes took to the runway. And a suggestive atmosphere of freedom and leisure were key collection notes. “The collection is inspired by streetwear and infused with workwear details and the modern sense of curiosity to travel unexplored lands,” read the show notes. “Sweatshirt fabrics and coloured, stonewashed denim are finished with classic Ferretti embroideries and inlays to create dynamic daywear including skirts, dresses, trousers and tracksuits.” Springtime at the house is set to be airy and delicate with lighter than light silks and chiffons forming the base of the tranquil collection.
