Ahead of the awards ceremony in June, CFDA have announced the recipient of the Fashion Icon award this year…

It’s official! Jennifer Lopez’s status as a style icon is being cemented, courtesy of the CFDA.

Over the years, the singer-turned-actress has become a total red carpet magnet – fronting some pretty daring sartorial choices at times. The 49-year-old has long remained sophisticated and radiant in neon tulle gowns, thigh-high leather boots, figure-hugging silhouettes and embellished-everything ensembles. Case in point: she pretty much tops the best-dressed list  at every Hollywood-led event including the Oscars or the Grammys.

So now, it makes sense that Jenny from the Block will be crowned as CFDA’s Style Icon at the upcoming CFDA Awards on June 3rd, 2019. In a statement, CFDA chairwoman, Diane von Furstenberg, said: “Jennifer Lopez uses clothes as a way to express confidence and power. Both designers and fans look forward to her fashion statements.”

However, to us, she’s long been a style icon in our eyes. While she’s had a number of memorable fashion moments during her, our top favourite are when she championed Middle Eastern designers.

No stranger to regional labels, the artist most recently donned a midnight blue Zuhair Murad creation during the 2019 Vanity Fair party. Plus, Jennifer also opted for Dubai-based label, Amato Couture, for her new music video, Medicine.

Now, take a look at which celebrities wore these six Middle Eastern designers in 2019 so far.
