Ralph & Russo: A Floral Wonderland

Set in a haven of candy-coloured blossoms, Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo presented their couture house’s spring collection in a winter wonderland.

Evoking Fifties pin-up glamour, ball gowns and breezy silk chiffon robes along with luscious coats, the mood for the night was as opulent and fantastical as one would expect. The design process of the team required over hundreds of hours of hand stitching on a single piece, which is hard to believe with the perfection and intricacy of the collection. Fragile gowns shimmering with sublime light were instantly contrasted with shades of black, with sculpted bodices and skirts made from sheer cascades of rippling mini-ruffles. Also a highlight was a two-piece suit fascinating electric blue shade far from the delicate palette of first half of the show. The show-stealing look that caused the most social media frenzy was the dramatic finale where supermodel Isabelli Fontana stepped out as a bride in a maxi kimono with a three-metre train, embellished with silver pearls and crystals.
