Dior Shows Its Autumn 2023 Collection At The Gateway Of India
Dior made a statement with a Pre-Fall 2023 collection runway show in Mumbai on March 30, 2023. This event celebrated India’s historical contribution to European high fashion and the rising influence of luxury consumers in the region. The Gateway of India monument served as the backdrop, adorned with marigold decorations and diya lamps. Dior’s collection showcased Madras check and Benarasi brocade fabrics, mirror work, tie-dye details, Nehru collars, and kurta tailoring—a harmonious blend of tradition and contemporary style. Meanwhile, the star-studded front row boasted Bollywood icons like Rekha, Sonam Kapoor, and Anushka Sharma, along with international stars like Cara Delevingne.

The month everyone started going crazy for Barbiecore thanks to buzz surrounding the upcoming Barbie movie. The movement encouraged all-pink ensembles including bubblegum and hot pink. We threw in whimsical accessories and anything you could imagine Barbie wearing.

Then from Barbiecore we jumped straight into Mermaid core. Iridescent fabrics, ocean-inspired hues and luxe embellishments, the ‘mermaidcore’ trend went viral for very good reason: release of Disney’s live-action remake of The Little Mermaid. According to data from Google, searches for mermaid style hit a 36 per cent spike shortly after the film’s release and it’s no surprise the trend permeated fashion as well.
