Opting for a more demure approach, the designer departed from last seasons over embellished looks and took on a more refined approach. Favouring a minimalistic style, where structure and tailoring formed the foundation of the collection. This departure allowed us to see the architectural construction and precision in Mabille’s craftsmanship. The designer steered away from the previous rich palette of jewelled tones, and opted for a modern monochromatic palette of black, white and navy. Backstage the designer revealed his motivation behind the collection, declaring it “a hymn to beauty”. From there he developed his vision even further, choosing to focus on the timeless beauty of the wearer. His work aims to create a way of nurturing and framing a women’s natural beauty. The runway saw tailored suits and figure flattering dresses that effortlessly grazed the body. There were pleated white gowns and Chantilly lace jumpsuits lined with ostrich feathers. Sheer dresses had a whimsical aesthetic and bold black ball gowns delivered a familiar extravagance.
