We’re going gaga over gowns at Carolina Herrera and Jason Wu where over-the-top puff sleeves and voluminous skirts stole the show. Elsewhere, ruffles took over the runways for spring/summer 2022, coming to life on dresses, boots and blouses. Osman brought the drama with an all-ruffle ensemble that is every extrovert’s dream, while Simone Rocha added oomph to a black-and-red look with roomy, ruffle-trimmed boots. More of an introvert? Look to Elie Saab’s sleek silhouettes for elegant, modest takes on the trend that can carry you through Ramadan and beyond.
The fashion pack also parted ways with winter neutrals and subdued hues, instead opting for currants, crimsons and candy apple.
