The colour enlightens the eye to give this sophisticated yet modern beauty look a powerful gaze

While Emporio Armani was busy taking over Linate airport, its couture sister-line, Giorgio Armani, put on a display of elegance and femininity with a SS19 collection full of subtle silhouettes, elongated shapes and delicate colours.

In keeping with the theme of the show, Giorgio Armani international makeup artist Linda Cantello opted for a makeup look that was delicate yet full of strength. The strong eye statement featured a smoked-out veil of pink glimmer that glowed underneath the runway lights and was achieved using the new Eyes to Kill Stellar eyeshadow in #5 Stellar.

“Traditionally romantic shades become strong: pastel pink revisited in weightless textures shot with iridescent highlights. Adding shiny “stellar tears” to eyes and blush on cheekbone instead of highlight adds force and modernity to a soft pretty look”, explained Cantello.

While a pop of pink on your lips is easy enough to pull off, the hue can be a little more daunting when it comes to your eyes. The trick to finding a pink shadow that works for you is to avoid choosing one that’s too red, which will make you look sickly. A pretty petal pink with flecks of gold is a good place to start. Before applying, prep your eyes with a primer to help the shadow blend more seamlessly and to ensure it stays in place throughout the day. Using a small eyeshadow brush, apply the shadow into the crease and up to the brow bone using circular motions as opposed to back and forth movements for a softer look.
