Weekend Wardrobes: Best Suited

0.5 min read

This weekend is all about no fuss silhouettes – why? We’re in this year’s last remaining months, in between December’s festivities and our busy work schedules. We all have so much to juggle, which is why there’s nothing better than being able to throw on an item that flatters the form and transforms your look as you rush out the door. We are talking about the suit in all its wonderful contemporary versions and styles and here, we show you how to wear it best.

Denim Chic

Our favourite textile for off-duty style is back, only this time it’s deftly woven into finer cottons and silk blends to create lighter alternatives. Here, the ever-elegant Olivia Palermo wears a Seventies style suit with a flared pant leg and slim cut jacket. The overall effect is both professional and cool, leaving no room for any mistakes. A signature piece of jewellery completes the whole look while pairing with a block coloured shirt emphasises the minimalist non-conformist look. The outfit also beautifully transitions to evening with the removal of the jacket, statement earrings and a DIY chignon.

Keep Them Guessing

A suit is like a blank canvas when it comes to accessorising, in the sense that it is both powerful in its potential and inspiring in its simplicity. Walk the fine line between kitsch and eccentricity with accessories that bear unconventional detailing with elegance. The panelled Pyrex-glass pattern of this circular Chanel bag is the perfect accent to your daywear suit.

Make A Statement

If you’re panning on rocking a suit you might as well go all the way. Avoid garish colours and stick to simple pastel tones for a smooth day to night transition. A matching tie and mini-briefcase can also work well but we warned: if the colour isn’t consistent throughout you risk the risk of a major faux pas.
