#TGIT: Cool In Green

0.5 min read

While white is our go-to for ephemeral summer looks there’s something about the mesmerising effect of green that elevates a basic look to style star status. This weekend we’re looking to cooling shades of green and how best to wear them.

The power of green has been evident on the catwalks this season but more so on the fringed jackets and billowing dresses of our favourite street stylers. Take note, simple silhouettes in contemporary daywear such as button down shirt dresses are infused with new life in tones of juniper, fern and metallic emerald. Opt for fabrics that highlight the vibrancy of the hue such as lightweight velvets and silks.

Popping over to an island retreat this weekend? Nothing soothes more than the power of green, infact according to colour symbology it’s all about renewal, rebirth and harmony. However, if you’re not to keen on working head-to-toe green, try a splash of seafoam on palazzo trousers for a wave of freshness.

Just as easily applicable to your accessories, the right shade of green goes with just about anything. Try keeping it simple and let your bag’s texture do the talking. Matte-lizard, python and alligator works across a wide range of outfits while fine jewellery embedded with jade and opal are sure winners.
