NYFW: Halfway Highlights

0.5 min read

As we hit the halfway mark at New York Fashion Week, we get a small preview of what’s to come for spring/summer17. MOJEH.com shares our top three collections to surface so far.

Zimmermann

Titled Stranded, Zimmermann’s s/s17 collection takes inspiration from an 80s nightclub in Sydney Australia. A place where creatives came together and expressed themselves through the experimentation of fashion. The eclectic collection promotes a juxtaposition of romance and rebellion, while revolutionising the notion of traditional bohemia.

Self Portrait

This season the relatively new label shifts gears from its lady-like aesthetic to a refreshingly masculine collection. Military-inspired jumpsuits with serviceable buttons made an appearance as did croc-embossed PVC cigarette pants and high-slit cargo skirts. Delicate lace and intricate cut-outs provided Han Chong’s recognisable lady-like signature that we have come to love.

Eckhaus Latta

Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta broke gender barriers with their s/s17 runway show in the Lower East Side’s Seward Park yesterday. Deconstructed silhouettes highlighted the craftsmanship of the collection, while voluminous jackets and panelled skirts gave a more wearable shift from past collections.
