Statement shades are emerging within AW15’s black winter staples. Whether you quietly add a jacket to your LBD or opt for a confident bold dress, red is a shade you just can’t avoid this season.

Marques ‘ Almeida’s fall collection includes intense red dresses and eye-catching jackets, layered into one exuberant look. Speaking about the brand’s muse, Marques said backstage: ‘She’s a quietly defiant girl – always’. And it’s clear this collection definitely defies the dark, reserved shades normally associated with winter. For a subtle take on AW15’s go-to shade, opt for a scarlet manicure or sultry red lip to add a vibrant edge to your style daily.

Emilia Wickstead’s designs are not for the fainthearted, with retro signatures and added volume to every piece, the contemporary, playful nature of her designs continues for AW15. The flawless floor-length design (pictured below) combines a sophisticated high neck with sultry plunge and thigh splits for an alluring look. Michael Van Der recreates the same impact with sheer, embellished skirts and bright casual knits (also pictured) for a daytime alternative.

These designers aren’t alone in the red revolution. Thomas Tait, Christopher Kane, Erdem and Jonathan Saunders, to name a few, also indulge in the shocking shade this season.
