Here’s your cheat sheet to the autumn/winter 2015 season, outlining our sartorial observations and the biggest trends from the main fashion runways around the world.

A Fashionable Front Row

The stars flock to plenty of shows each fashion week, but Dior‘s roster of stylish attendees was unrivalled this season. Proving the wearability of Raf Simons’ street-smart, high fashion designs were the likes of Laetitia Casta, Hanneli Mustaparta, Elena Perminova and Olympia Scarry – dressed head-to-toe in Dior, naturally.

The Fashion Week Changeling

From street goth at Alexander Wang, sophisticated New York businesswoman at Diane Von Furstenberg to Princess bride at Oscar de la Renta and Diana Vreeland muse at Marc Jacobs, Kendall Jenner was the ultimate fashion chameleon last season.

A Designer Debut

A fashion face-off with freaks vs. geeks arrived in the form of Alessandro Michele’s first show at the revamped Gucci house against the formerly exiled John Galliano heading up a major appointment at Maison Martin Margiela. While Michele stripped house codes in favour of geek-chic, thrift-shop-appropriate garb, Galliano simply dropped the ‘Martin‘ for Maison Margiela, and sent down a crazed collection of theatrical pieces evocative of his heyday at the house of Dior.

Ladylike Tendencies

The debutante was the defining figure last season as designers drew inspiration from ladylike glamour and all-out feminine finishes. Miuccia Prada was the leader of the pack as she flip-reversed the dark nature of her core Prada aesthetic with the girlish nature of her Miu Miu muse in sweetly saccharine hues. Stella McCartney and Balenciaga voiced a much more sophisticated aesthetic thanks to a graphic and monochromatic palette of black and white. Meanwhile, Sarah Burton looked to the fragility of the rose in her delicate exploration of the Alexander McQueen woman.

Rouge lips were given a fresh overhaul for autumn/winter 2015. Ermanno Scervino, Marc Jacobs and Carolina Herrera favoured rich shades in wine-stained hues. In London meanwhile, Giles Deacon went all out goth-glam with inkblot lips treated with a glossy finish.

Normcore Hair

For Victoria Beckham‘s namesake collection the designer opted for a new take on the classic chignon. Beckham has never been one for outlandish designs (at least since her 2010 runway debut in New York) so this part ponytail part bun was a perfect style for her effortless woman.

Model Off Duty

Belgian model Hanne-Gaby Odiele is one of the most stylish off duty models around. She isn’t afraid to experiment with fashion, and her often eclectic wardrobe is celebrated by street style photographers each season. For autumn/winter 2015, Odiele showcased a plethora of unique looks that wouldn’t look out of place on the major runways.
