Take a cue from the world’s most stylish people, Parisians. Dominating everything from streetstyle to fashion week (and every hour of the day in-between), effortless style is always on trend.

Four days of consecutive socialising, photographs and shows mean your fashion game must be on point. Instead of looking to a particular trend we’re looking to the beauty of effortless style by a combination of three easy-to-follow steps: simple silhouettes, hints of colour and statement accessories. Each one helps to create looks that will continue to be in vogue long after the flurry of the fashion season.

1. The Parisian’s essentials include a monochromatic colour palette with hints of colour. Beige, black and white are your best options and match all skin tones. Try cashmere sweaters with silk skirts for a play on texture.

2. Controlled proportions and keeping an overall silhouette simple is essential. Not forgetting pairing drama with subtlety, for example a large ball skirt with a crisp white shirt or tones of grey layered on top of one another.

3. Always let your accessories do the talking. This season’s statement bags in worked leather, studs and an assortment of futuristic textures play the perfect accent to any ensemble.
