It’s all about the three Cs at Celine for Winter 2021’s ready-to-wear collection; cool, chic and comfortable.

Celine has been undergoing a transformation of late to become more accessible and – at the risk of showing our age – hip, in order to appeal to younger generations who have a knack for sending brands into the stratosphere. This is demonstrated in Celine’s Winter 2021 ready-to-wear collection which is brimming with both Generation Z-friendly offerings and timeless pieces.

For Winter 2021, Hedi Slimane gives a masterclass in Parisian dressing with easy-to-wear elegance injected into everyday essentials, teamed with confidently casual separates. Think: structured blazers atop asymmetric crop tops, hoodie-trench hybrids paired with free-flowing metallic dresses and mom jeans with pussy bow blouses. Although Slimane utilises a minimal colour palette – albeit with a hint of metallic thread – lush fabrics in tantalising textures bring the collection to life. Masculine tailoring rounds out Celine Winter 2021 with sharper-than-sharp suits and precise lines.

And where would a new-age collection be without an athleisure element? Enter: blindingly white sneakers, letterman jackets and Celine’s signature hat selection, now expanded to include the bucket variety. Going out-out? Opt for classic ankle boots and a preppy headband instead, complete with the House’s name etched in gold.

For Winter 2021’s footwear, Celine went a little bit country and a little bit rock ‘n’ roll with a combination of tough-as-nails ankle boots and knee-highs, apt for an evening out or a stroll in the French countryside, respectively. Accessories add a touch of glamour to an otherwise minimal collection, with tortoiseshell sunglasses baring the gold Celine motif and stacked jewellery. The most anticipated accessories however, were Celine’s latest handbag offerings, including the new-and-improved Tabou – a laid-back saddle unearthed from 80s archives – as well as the 90s-inspired Ava and pop-orange Triomphe with glistening gold hardware.

With its laid-back edge and sophisticated spirit, Celine Winter 2021 ready-to-wear is exactly that; ready to throw on any time, anywhere. The youth-inspired collection – which, we reiterate, is fit for fashion-lovers of all ages – is at once cool, confident and undeniably Celine. Watch the show
