Pavel Brejcha

If you yearn for the clean lines of Rick Owens, then Pavel Brejcha should be on your style agenda. ‘Constructivist vs. Impressionist’ was the working title for his AW15 foray, as he combined the soft with the flat in sculptural silhouettes.

Chatty

Founded in 2005 by design duo Anna Tušková and Radka Sirková, Chatty is the Czech Republic’s answer to contemporary, urban design. AW15 was inspired by puzzles with the designers incorporating separates within an abstract aesthetic.

Zuzana Kubíčková

Zuzana Kubíčková’s familiar sensibility with fashion showcases a repurposing of the old for the new. Much like Miuccia Prada, Kubíčková explores the ugly-pretty concept of overlapping and repeating linear shapes with an abundance of lace, embroidery and pearls.

Petra Ptáčková

Educated at the prestigious French Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, Petra Ptáčková has inherited couture-like techniques within her collections. Her AW15 line labelled ‘Oh, I see … Twice’ is informed by her time spent backstage at Paris Fashion Week.

Odivi

Devised by Iva Burkertová, Odivi combines the comfortable with the luxury in attempts to appeal to a wider consumer audience. For AW15 Odivi’s ‘Temporary Kings’ collection searches for a balance between extreme contrasts.

Pavel Berky

Via Slovakia to Prague, minimalist Pavel Berky’s designs wouldn’t look out of place on the runways of Paris. His AW15 foray was loosely inspired by fetishism, with long, languid silhouettes treated in the most luxe of silks.

Martina Špetlová

One of the Czech Republic’s most famous exports, Martina Špetlová found her footing in fashion at the prestigious Central Saint Martins in London. From there Špetlová debuted her final student collection at London Fashion Week before setting up shop in the capital. This season Špetlová drew on fabric explorations, utilising leather with colour and new patterns.

Michael Kováčik

Starting his fashion trajectory as a stylist, Michael Kováčik moved away from the wardrobe to establish his namesake brand in 2013. Informed by minimalist design, Kováčik’s muse is a self-assured, urban woman unafraid to showcase her personal style.

LaFormela

Influenced by culture, history and traditions, the Czech-Slovak collective that make up LaFormela are MBPFW’s sole avant-garde artists. Conjured by designers, Antonín Soukup, Miroslava Kohutiarová and Katarína Ravasová, LaFormela’s AW15 collection came by way of the mysteries of the underground.
