Palestinian artist Hazem Harb’s new solo exhibition should be top of your to-do list this January

From his birthplace of Gaza to his time spent in Rome and Dubai, it’s safe to say that Palestinian artist Hazem Harb has his fair share of cultural experiences to highlight throughout his work, and it’s these thematic through lines from the 20 years of his practice you’ll see at The Now — his new solo exhibition curated by Munira Al Sayegh, founder of Abu Dhabi’s Dirwaza Curatorial Lab.

Connecting both his old and new bodies of work, this exciting new exhibition introduces a set of paintings from the early 2000s right up to today, tracing the roots and realities of the last two decades of his life. Geography is an ongoing theme for the artist, as is the Harbs practice, using raw and bold colours that have become an integral part of his work.
