Lebanese jewellery brand L’Atelier Nawbar has teamed up with influencer Nathalie Fanj for a one-of-a-kind capsule collection which pays tribute to the good ol’ days – the ‘90s. The Jem Pop collection features six unique statement rings, each of which draws inspiration from the oversized, candy-coloured plastic jewellery that was all the rage at the time. Each gold-plated statement piece has been handmade by fine-jewellery artisans and is modelled after iconic items from the decade – including the now-vintage cassette tapes. Other designs include a yin-yang sign, a smiley face, an eye and a heart available in two colour combinations.
Nathalie Fanj chose to celebrate the '90s with her jewellery collection as she – along with L’Atelier Nawbar’s creative directors Dima and Tania Nawbar – have always admired the decade’s trends. “I remember growing up in the '90s and being so inspired by my sisters who were teenagers then and how they dressed. I own a lot of clothing items and jewellery from the '90s that I will never stop wearing,” explains Nathalie.
An optimistic, light-hearted collaboration between a Lebanese brand and Lebanese creative is especially meaningful as the country continues to try to lift spirits and support one another after last year’s devastating events.
While we refuse to admit that our teenage memories are now vintage novelties, it is impossible to resist fun-loving fashion. Shop the Jem Pop capsule collection at lateliernawbar.com
