Chanel has pushed boundaries for 100 years, and its fragrance-inspired high jewellery collection is no different
Ever the trailblazers, Chanel has crafted the first high jewellery collection dedicated to a perfume. Collection N°5 pays homage to five facets of the N°5 fragrance, including the stopper, sillage and the bottle itself. Created by Patrice Leguéreau, Director of the Chanel Fine Jewelry Creation Studio, the collection celebrates 100 years of an icon.
Gabrielle Chanel was a stereotype-shattering innovator, and her creations reflected this rebellion. N°5 was a revolutionary concoction, while Mademoiselle Chanel’s first high jewellery launch 11 years later redefined high jewellery codes as we know it. “Gabrielle Chanel approached these two universes with the same visionary values, focusing on audacity and the quest for excellence. I wanted to rediscover that creative gesture with this collection, which has been conceived like a journey through the meanderings of the N°5 perfume’s soul,” explained Leguéreau.
