A new mood of romance took over during spring/summer 2016 fashion weeks calling for a revival of some of fashion’s timeless jewellery trends, including pearls, tiaras and brooches. Here’s a look at out top four picks.

Chandelier Earrings

This season, designers got creative with dramatic earrings, presenting an array of avant garde jewelled pieces including Salvatore Ferragamo’s unique earrings with a single pearl on a chain; whilst the Céline show presented purposefully mismatched graphic earrings.

Chokers

The Nineties’ trend has been popping up on the spring/summer runways, transforming the once grungy accessory into a coveted piece of jewellery. Christian Dior had us all choked up, setting the pace with fabric chokers that were seen wrapped around the necks of their models. Anya Hindmarch used soft silk scarfs, while Elie Saab showed off a minimalistic style with polished metal as the material of choice.

Tiaras

From Saint Laurent’s Diamante tiaras, Chanel’s preppy metallic headbands to Dolce&Gabbana’s solid gold floral crowns; the decorative headgear when worn over loose or low tied hair, elevates even the most simple of outfits.

Body Harness

The contraptions in the form of chain linked body harnesses have been upgraded this season at McQueen with heavy armour-like metallic intricacies; while Calvin Klein took the minimalist approach towards thread-like body chains.
