When it comes to hats this season, bigger is definitely better
Designer Simon Porte Jacquemus is credited with having started the oversized hats trend with his Le Grand Chapeau Bomba oversized straw hat, which debuted on his spring/summer 18 runway. While the gigantic shoulder-grazing headgear isn’t exactly practical, extra-wide brimmed hats are great for protecting your face and shoulders from the sun’s harmful rays. The Jacquemus hat tends to sell out almost instantly but they have just had a restock, so if you want one, you better be quick. Of course if you miss out, there are plenty of other super sized offerings on the market including Missoni’s oversized woven version and Miu Miu’s frayed embroidered straw sunhat.
We wonder if Meghan Markle will be sporting an oversized hat anytime soon…
