When the same straw hat keeps repetitively popping up on our Instagram feeds, it’s hard not to take notice of said trend. Yes, once or twice might be a pretty coincidence, but more than that it’s definitely a style worth noting down. With a brim circumference that gives new meaning to the term oversized, it has been hard to miss Jacquemus‘ straw hat.
The XXL accessory made its debut off the SS18 runway when Danish It girl Emma Leth (above) traded her wedding veil for the super-sized Chapeau. Not long after, Bella Hadid was caught on the beach in Mexico in nothing but the massive head-obscuring hat. And it didn’t stop there; the dramatic viral accessory planted itself atop more famous heads, with Solange Knowles and Eva Chen just some of the early adopters. Bold and surreal, Jacquemus has managed to make quite a big deal out of summer’s hottest accessory. So if you’re heading to la plage anytime soon a hat – straw, floppy and super-sized, is the only way to step out into the sun.
