Stella McCartney brings the Sustainable Market from Paris to Dubai

British fashion designer and pioneer of sustainable fashion, Stella McCartney, has opened a sustainable innovation exhibition at Expo City in Dubai as part of the COP28 UN Climate Conference. Stella McCartney’s Sustainable Market: Innovating Tomorrow’s Solutions is running until 12 December and aims to inspire and educate about cutting-edge technologies that can be implemented into the fashion industry.

Innovators and planet-savers have gathered to showcase sustainable practices

Stella McCartney’s Sustainable Market showcases over fifteen pioneers in eco-friendly fashion, each of which presents alternative options to unethical practices. From plant-based alternatives to fur, leather and plastic, to breakthroughs in regenerative agriculture and the world’s first pieces crafted from infinitely recyclable polyester, there is plenty to discover.

Those with a keen eye will recognise the Sustainable Market concept from the Stella McCartney SS24 show during Paris Fashion Week, where the installation served as a backdrop for the unveiling of the collection.

Stella McCartney has long been an advocate for planet-friendly practices

Stella McCartney has utilised sustainable, environmentally conscious practices for over two decades and was the first luxury House to ban the use of animal leather, feathers, furs and skins.

In addition to the exhibition, Stella McCartney has announced her delegation to the COP28 UN Climate Conference, focusing on three key goals: advocating for policy and regulatory change to incentivise sustainable business; human and animal protection and welfare; and building a coalition of business leaders to support investment in a range of innovations. Ever the over-achievers, the brand has also pledged a 2040 net-zero target, which entails cutting carbon emissions by 46.2% by 2030. Learn more here
