Singing the blues

Queen Rania Al-Abdullah of Jordan is indisputably one of the world’s most stylish royals. Whether she’s reforming her country’s education system or attending an international gala, Her Majesty never puts a foot wrong when it comes to her sartorial choices. But one thing that’s recently caught our eye is Queen Rania’s love for the colour blue. From cornflower to cobalt, she’s explored the whole spectrum and has solidified her status as a style icon. Below we’ve rounded up six times Queen Rania proved blue is a winning hue.

Dressed in a beautiful blue midi dress with long sleeves by Prabal Gurung, Queen Rania Al Abdullah hosted an iftar banquet at Raghadan Palace for Jordanian women who are active in the fields of education, civil society, and media.

While visiting the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Queen Rania wore a chic cornflower blue blouse, which she teamed with checked high-waisted trousers from UAE designer Reema Al Banna.

Queen Rania showed off her effortless style in a navy shirt and matching navy trousers.

While exploring the famed Gemeentemuseum with her husband King Abdullah, King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands and Queen Maxima, Queen Rania stole the show in a powder blue Ferragamo coat.

Adding a royal spin on animal print, Queen Rania stepped out in a sophisticated electric blue silk dress which featured a subtle leopard motif.

It seems a love for blue runs in the family as Queen Rania opted for a baby blue turtle-neck and delicate floral skirt, which she teamed with a pair of dark blue heels in this stunning family portrait. Her husband and sons donned smart blue shirts and dark blue suit trousers.

After 24 years of marriage, Queen Rania Al-Abdullah of Jordan and her husband King Abdullah are evidently as in love as ever.
