Rizman Ruzaini opened Dubai Fashion Week, the first event on the international fashion calendar, with a splendid autumn/winter 2024/25 haute couture collection. The Malaysian couturiers were inspired by the grandeur of the 17th century Mughal Empire and Empress Mihr-unn-issa Begum’s elegant ensembles and replicated its splendour through 61 meticulously crafted pieces. The Maison added a contemporary twist to traditional silhouettes, from dhotis and kurtas to sherwani-salwar in magnificent metallics and deep blacks, enhancing each piece with accessories including brooches, necklaces and traditional nose chains.

The show also marked the introduction of Rizman Ruzaini’s bridal couture services to the Gulf and the Maison’s newly launched website.

Dubai Fashion Week will take place in Dubai Design District (D3) until 8 February and will host presentations by international and regional designers including Hummariff, Mrs. Keepa, Michael Cinco, BLSSD, Dima Ayad and Maison Sara Chraibi, a Paris Couture Week designer who will be making her Dubai Fashion Week debut.
