Maison Valentino has unveiled an exclusive Haute Couture Abaya Collection created by Pierpaolo Piccioli as part of Qatar Creates, a cultural event which invites creatives from the country, region and beyond to share insight into their industries.
The Haute Couture Abaya Collection comprises fifteen exclusive abayas which echo the captivating Valentino Des Ateliers Haute Couture collection. Vibrant colours meet delicate embroidery and exceptional craftsmanship, creating weightless pieces despite their layered silhouettes; the collection includes an orange cashmere abaya embroidered with silver sequins and a crystal-embroidered cape abaya with lace detailing.
The Valentino Des Ateliers Haute Couture Autumn/Winter 2022 collection will also be available for viewing. Inspired by twelve works of art - "Painting is to contemporary art what Haute Couture is to fashion," remarks the House - the experimental collection is bursting with grandiose gowns and vibrant colours. Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli created a sense of community by inviting artists of all ages, backgrounds and aesthetics into the Valentino atelier, where their visions were transformed into wearable works of art.
The abaya collection is available to view by appointment until 5 November at the Doha Design District, Qatar's leading destination for innovation, art and design.
