MFW: The Gucci Edit

Ruffles, jewels and electric colours. The signature codes we’ve come to love from Alessandro Michele were on display at today’s Gucci show at Via Valtellna 5/7 in Milan. But as with every Michele orchestrated show the volume was amped-several notches. Imagine an acid orange coat bearing contrasting zebra motifs, shoes encrusted in gems and ultraviolet shades forming elevated platform sandals, as well as embroidery that rose to fantastical limits, which pays homage to the heritage know-how of both the brand and Michele’s post as current maestro. What stood out more than the collection’s focus on statement dressing was its experimentation with proportion. The Gucci woman is in a constant state of metamorphosis continually intriguing and ever-evolving. It’s as if Michele is continually testing both the Maison’s traditional customer and the fashion world itself. Whatever the intention, MOJEH.com is happy to report that we’re loving every minute of it.
