You better work. That’s the message (seemingly) portrayed by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons for the Prada AW24 menswear collection. The collection featured workwear staples known and loved, from the oversized suit to slinky ties and turtlenecks. But wait, is that a fuchsia swim cap? A low-slung belt plucked straight from a noughties moodboard? Gladiator sandals?
The Prada office staged in the heart of Milan is anything but a typical working environment, except if you are a swimming teacher that happens to match his suit to his goggles. The whimsical collection balances the rigid nature of office wear with inspirations from nature, whether through moss-green ties or garments worn when interacting with the outdoors. “There is the idea of being influenced by environments in the garments themselves,” said Raf Simons. “Office and nature, inside and out, the instinctive change of people shifting between these opposite spheres.” Scroll through the gallery above for the menswear pieces you will find MOJEH in come winter 2024.
