How To Wear White This Month

A wash of white offers a welcomed break from the more vivacious palettes quite often associated with a new season. Think crisp shirts, feminine dresses and block colour

What could be simpler than a white dress? Whether thrown on first thing in the morning with a pair of brogues, or teamed with a blazer and heels post 5 o’clock, a white dress really is one of fashion’s little pleasures. Uplifting on any skin tone, versatile when worn with any other colour, and let’s face it, not that difficult to wash and iron, (it being the 21st century after all).

And then there’s the white shirt. All-American brands such as Ralph Lauren and Carolina Herrera put it on the style map back in the eighties. Now no fashion-forward wardrobe is complete without a crisp version from one brand or another. Today we champion Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini (as worn below), but tomorrow? Well it could be anyone from Celine to Tommy Hilfiger. Our advice: Invest in classic cuts, nothing is ever quite as sophisticated.

The best thing about head-to-toe white? Beauty options are vast. Stick with the theme and keep hair and make-up raw and natural. (Like model Carolina Balesteros who wears a soft swipe of pink on the lips alongside perfected brows). Or amp things up with full blown beauty. The contrast against white will elevate your look.
