Doha is the battle ground for this year’s edition of Fashion Trust Arabia, where 24 designers go head-to-head in the hopes of securing life-changing prizes
Fashion Trust Arabia (FTA) has announced its star-studded judging committee for the 2022 edition and it includes world-renowned designers such as Olivier Rousteing of Balmain; Iris Van Herpen; Charaf Tajer of Casablanca; and Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim of Oscar de la Renta. In addition, Founder of The Business of Fashion Imran Amed; Carine Roitfeld, founder of CR Fashion Book; and Lorraine Shwartz are some of the other industry heavyweights joining the festivities.

The esteemed panel will be responsible for the selection of five winners – chosen from 24 finalists – across ready-to-wear, evening wear, accessories, jewellery and the Franca Sozzani Debut Talent Award. The awarding will take place on 26 October and the winners will walk away with up to $200,000, a personalised one-year mentoring programme delivered by industry professionals and a one-year partnership with MatchesFashion.com. As well as multiple partnerships with renowned brands, Harrods will mentor the evening wear category winner and stock their collection in-store.

Fashion Trust Arabia is a non-profit initiative launched in 2018 under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser as honorary chair, with co-chairs Her Excellency Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani and Tania Feres. It was created to provide financial support, guidance, mentorship and a platform to up-and-coming designers from the MENA region, as well as put the region on the fashion map.
