Interior Designer Sawsan Chammas Haber A Day In The Life

Have you ever wondered what some of your favourite female figures get up to each day? MOJEH’s A Day In The Life series follows some of the region’s most influential female movers and shakers, from business owners and entrepreneurs to fashion designers and art gallery owners. This week we’re talking to Sawsan Chammas Haber, interior designer and founder of interior design and architecture firm Dipiugi. From an early-morning wake-up call to site visits, client meetings and an evening well-spent with family, Sawsan’s typical day goes a little something like this…

I wake up at…

I’m an early riser, so I’m up at 5.30am to pray or meditate. After that I either go back to sleep for an hour and wake again at 7.30am, otherwise I’ll just get on with my day.

My morning routine…

Normally consists of an hour of me-time alongside a healthy breakfast. I’ll use this time to check my social media messages, emails and WhatsApps and add to my Instagram stories before starting work.

My typical day…

If I’m not meeting clients and members of my team, you’ll find me on site following up a project execution or meeting suppliers and sourcing products. The 24 hours in a day are not always enough for me!

My go-to beauty look for the 9-5…

Wavy hair and pink lips.

For lunch, I eat…

A light meal, unless I’m meeting a friend at one of my favourite restaurants, then I’ll make sure I enjoy the food and forget about dieting.

What I love most about my job is…

The creative side where I have the ability to transform spaces from boring and dull to interesting and beautiful. I love that no day is the same; all projects bring different experiences and challenges, meaning I never get bored.

And what I enjoy the least is…

The poor workmanship that I sometimes face and the unprofessionalism of certain contractors that I have to deal with.

When I get home…

I spend time with my family, cuddle my children, talk and eat dinner together. It’s the best time of my day.

When I feel stressed, I…

Simply lock my bedroom door and go to sleep because I know very well that when I wake up I’ll feel much better.

If I wasn’t an interior designer, I would be…

A dancer. To me dancing is a synchronised manifestation between my soul and my body. It takes me to a passionate and magical imaginary world, and I find that to be a priceless experience.
