Revamping your interiors this summer? Assouline’s latest launch is equal parts chic and educational

Assouline, the luxurious publishing house behind Instagram’s favourite coffee-table books, has launched an ode to Saudi Arabia. AlUla Flora celebrates the diverse plant life found at the UNESCO World Heritage Site; over 80 plant species are highlighted throughout the pages, from the intimidating Spiny Milkvetch to the culturally significant jujube tree.

AlUla Flora invites readers to explore the diverse landscapes of the ancient site without leaving their living rooms – traverse the expansive desert plains or seek solace in an oasis abundant in natural springs. Written by Abdulaziz Assaeed, a professor of rangeland ecology at King Said University and accompanied by photographs taken by Hayat Osamah, the book raises awareness about the little-known ecosystems blossoming in AlUla.

In addition, AlUla Flora spotlights sustainability practices that have been implemented to protect the native species and restore its ecosystems, as well as the animal reintroduction programme that has seen the release of 1,000 indigenous animals. Shop now
