Recently we’ve chanced upon the wonderfully wacky visual artworks that are the music videos of upcoming French artist, Petite Meller. Portrayed in many of her videos as a blonde, childlike entity this modern muse is setting the blogosphere ablaze with her take on issues such as ‘The Kidnapped Schoolgirls Of Nigeria’ and cultural appropriation through lyrics and visuals that resemble something out of an LSD-infused music festival.

Though her first music video ‘Baby Love’ was released early last year, only now are the eccentric jazzy-pop beats of her lyrics making their way onto our playlists. Don’t be fooled by the summer loving high-pitched sounds of her songs, these are definitely not your ordinary pop tracks. For instance, in her newly released album ‘Milk Bath’, the artist embodies a cow on a dairy farm, a take on veganism perhaps? She even had scientists from Cornell University involved in its filming showcasing yet another brilliant appreciation for the interspersion of science, music and the arts.
Where, most contemporary female pop artists have taken to exhibiting the visual equivalent and lyrical taste of a R-rated film. A closer observation of P.M’s overall aesthetic shows an intelligent take on important issues, perhaps due to her pursuing music in-between studying for a MA in psychoanalysis at Sorbonne(yes!) this artist has a wild imagination and talent to match.
