Best Dressed at the Emmy Awards

It was a case of sheen and sparkle vs. rich gemstone hues at the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards, the most prestigious night for television’s elite. Showstopping gowns were on the red carpet agenda, with actresses Maggie Gyllenhaal and Elisabeth Moss both sporting Oscar de la Renta ballgowns in saturated shades of lilac and raspberry, respectively. Elsewhere Game of Thrones star Lena Headey wore a couture Zuhair Murad gown crystallised with beads. Glitz was also on the cards for Claire Danes who wore a custom sequin Prada gown complete with silver chain accents. Lady Gaga – the latest addition to the American Horror Story crew – shocked everyone by showing up in a minimal asymmetric black gown by designer Brandon Maxwell. Meanwhile Gaga’s fellow co-star Sarah Paulson added a dose of red carpet drama in an off-shoulder custom Prabal Gurung dress, embroidered with thousands of mirrored sequins.
