After signing on with Chanel to produce a ready-to-wear and accessories capsule collection for the house’s spring/summer 2019 season, Pharrell Williams has taken his friendship with Karl Lagerfeld to the next level by walking in the brand’s Métiers d’Art show in New York on Tuesday night.

Inspired by ancient Egypt, the show was staged in The Sackler Wing of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a space that houses one of its grandest ancient Egyptian exhibits: the Temple of Dendur. “Egyptian civilisation has always fascinated me: I get inspired by an idea, which I make a reality,” explained Lagerfeld in a press release.

Dressed in shiny gold trousers and a gold turtleneck sweater with Egyptian-inspired collar detailing, Williams even wore the same abstract eye makeup as his fellow models.
