The Duchess was there to see the impact of the money raised by the community cookbook she helped put together
When Megan Markle helped a group of women from the Hubb Community Kitchen launch a cookbook she hoped it would raise funds to make a difference - and now she is seeing first-hand that it has. In fact, the women have achieved their goal and more, selling over 71,000 copies of Together: Our Community Kitchen since its September launch and raising vital funds for the organisation.
For the visit, Meghan wore a burgundy Club Monaco dress (which has since sold out) featuring long sleeves and a velvet collar. She co-ordinated the look with a Club Monaco Daylina coat, a pair of Givenchy ankle boots, and a rose gold slogan "love" ring from LA jewellery brand Meredith Hahn.
According to the palace, thanks to profits from the cookbook "the kitchen has been completely renovated, with the women’s input, capturing the joyful spirit of the Hubb Community Kitchen and providing a safe, professional space to unite the community through food."
The Kitchen is also now open seven days a week and there are further outreach projects planned, including a group for women affected by domestic violence, a scheme to deliver nutritious meals for women on maternity wards, and a project to produce healthy treats for children.
