The actor voices a video for the designer called All is Love
Stella McCartney has teamed up with award-winning actor Idris Elba on a short film called “All is Love”, which shows an inspiring group of people as they reveal their mastectomy scars. The designer has long been an advocate for breast cancer awareness; her mother Linda McCartney died from the disease in 1998.
The campaign aims to challenge the taboo of men speaking openly about breast cancer, and highlight that the disease can affect both men and women. “Along with many other people, I was unfortunate enough to have lost my father to cancer five years ago,” said Elba. “Removing the taboo around men talking about breast cancer and encouraging other men to talk about it with their wives, mothers, sisters isn’t something we often see or hear about, but it should be. We should be encouraging the women in our lives to go for regular check-ups.”

The short film is part of a wider Breast Cancer Awareness campaign, which includes the launch of Stella McCartney Cares, a new platform where the brand can funnel its philanthropic activities and efforts through one centralised channel. The platform’s first initiative will be the donation of 1,000 of McCartney’s Louis Listening post-operative mastectomy compression bras to women undergoing breast cancer treatment. The bra can be requested online at stellamccartneycares.org.
