Ask any epicure where you can source the finest Japanese cuisine in Dubai and they’ll point you in the direction of Mimi Kakushi – the eatery did rank 20th in the MENA 50 Best Restaurant awards, after all.
Conceptualised by the masterminds behind Twiggy by La Cantine, La Cantine Du Faubourg and Ninive and situated in the heart of the city at Four Seasons Resort Dubai Jumeirah Beach, Mimi Kakushi is inspired by Osaka’s roaring 20s and the anarchy, artistry and attitude that ensued; its very name originates from the rebellious bob hairstyle worn by women of the era.
Tuna and Caviar Tartare
With culture clashing at its core, Mimi Kakushi combines the rhythm of the West with the flavours of the East, transforming traditional Japanese fare into contemporary creations with a playful twist. Sumptuous offerings include an array of hot and cold starters, shareable dishes and sushi galore. The tuna tartare with caviar and crispy nori bread; wagyu and foie gras gyoza with truffle soy butter; and donabe rice pot with seasonal mushrooms, seaweed butter and fresh truffle are just some of the highlights. End on a (sugar) high with the deliciously wicked, peanut butter-filled Kori-Kori chocolate mi-cuit.
