Dubai Design Week is contributing to humanitarian aid efforts in Gaza

From November 7th to 12th, Dubai Design Week is set to take place at Dubai Design District (d3). The tenth edition of the event brings together over 500 emerging and established designers from both regional and international backgrounds, showcasing a rich array of exhibitions, installations, discussions, workshops, pop-ups, weekend market, and the leading design fair in the region, Downtown Design.

In response to the devastating events occurring in Gaza, the Art Dubai Group will be raising funds to support the many innocent civilians affected by this tragedy. Organisers of this this year’s Downtown Design fair will ask visitors to pay an entrance fee of  Dhs25 at the door, which will be fully donated to Emirates Red Crescent. The Art Dubai Group, which owns and manages Downtown Design, will match the total funds raised.

Dubai Design Week will not only showcase innovative designs but it will also support various initiatives and projects aimed at helping people who have been displaced due to war, violence, disaster, and persecution. Some of the projects include MADE51, which supports refugee artisans, and Better Shelter, which provides temporary homes for displaced families to live in safely. To find out more, click here
