As a part of the #DiorStandsWithWomen campaign, Christian Dior Parfums has unveiled a series of short films that celebrate influential women from different backgrounds and industries. The initiative highlights the unique journeys of the women featured; sharing the challenges they have encountered, what they have learnt along the way and what message they want to pass on to women across the world. From actresses to scientists and photographers, each clip shares a thought-provoking story on femininity, courage and self-affirmation.
Among the line-up of inspirational women, is Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani. “As a woman, I don’t defend women or men, I defend truthfulness. I defend the truth,” says Golshifteh Farahani, as she discusses her experience of growing up in Iran during her filmed portrait for the Dior Beauty campaign. Calling for equality between men and women, the actress also shares her view of strong woman: “Being a strong woman is to also be vulnerable, to be soft…to be a mother, to be a wife, to be a daughter,” she says.
One of 11 empowering stories, Farahani is joined by Charlize Theron, Cara Delevingne, Li Bing Bing, Yalitza Aparicio, Leyna Bloom, Parris Goebel, Pamela Tulizo, Paloma Elsesser, Carole Biancalana, and Marina Cavazzana. In addition to the films, the #DiorStandsWithWomen campaign is also partnering with Dior brand ambassador Charlize Theron’s foundation, the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP). Dior Beauty will contribute to the new CTAO Youth Leaders Scholarship programme for 2021, which provides education and support to the leaders of tomorrow.
