Shine bright this season with cheekbones that could double as safety reflectors. Spritz skin with a setting spray before layering on powder highlighter with a damp beauty blender for ultimate impact. Remember, only apply highlighter to the highest points of the face where light naturally hits (unless you’re going for disco-ball chic).

In the warmer months, eyeshadow can get caught-up in the eye crease and even run under the eye. The best-bet to keep it in place is with a primer. First, add to your lids before applying eyeshadow—bold colours are best for summer. Then, once applied, lightly dust with a gold highlighting powder, calming the eyeshadow colour and keeping your makeup in place.

Face and body highlighters come in spray, cream, oil and powder form and are a perfect way to give your skin that just-back-from-holiday look. When applying anywhere on the face or body, go easy or stay home. You always want to achieve a dewy, not sweaty, look.

Makeup looks best when applied to healthy, hydrated skin. Don’t forget that diet, avoiding hot showers, and getting enough sleep do just as much good as your favourite lotions and potions will do.
