Best Beauty Trends At The Met Gala

Hailey Baldwin. As if immortalised in an Irving Penn photograph, the actress’s matte skin was accented with a rose blush lip lacquer. The work of makeup artist Robert Sesnek, on behalf of Laura Mercier, Baldwin’s eyes sparkled just as much as her diamond veil thanks to the use of Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour.
Zoë Kravitz. As the newest muse and face for YSL Beauty, it’s no wonder that the young starlet chose to wear the beauty brand for the Met Gala. However, her choice of colour tones for the night in question didn’t veer too much into the YSL’s runway aesthetic. Instead, makeup artist Renee Garnes was inspired by Breakfast At Tiffany’s, and embedded Kravitz’s eyes with Full Metal Shadow in dewy gold and Touche Éclat Strobing Light Pen to highlight her skin.
Lily Aldridge. The magenta netting didn’t hide this star’s glowing skin or, better yet, her statement brows. The actress ensured her dewy skin and matte peach lips were perfectly prepped by make up artist Quinn Murphy, who utilised Armani Beauty products before tying the veil.
Jennifer Lopez. Putting yourself in the hands of celebrity makeup artist Scott Barnes always works. Jennifer Lopez exuded the kind of glowing charisma that most actresses strive to attain. Her tanned look was achieved using L’oreal makeup while Chris Appleton created her theatrical up-do.
Lily Collins. Everyone needs a film noir moment. Take cues from Lilly Collins and apply Lancôme Le Crayon Khol in black ebony, before layering Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge in 397 berry noir on top. The combination seeps delicately into lips and gives you gothic romanticism for days. Her hairstyle was a remarkably realistic wig cut in perfect precision.
Brie Larson. Makeup artist Rachel Goodwin applied miniscule pearls to the tips of the actress’s metallic cat eye. Meanwhile, Larson’s delicately side-swept hair was flecked in glinting gold leaf for a truly opulent effect

The Met Gala often provides us with the perfect excuse for that new beauty buy and this season was no exception. A heightened sense of glamour permeated from celebrities on the red carpet.
