Alserkal Avenue comes alive this January with the return of Quoz Arts Fest
The 9th annual Quoz Arts Fest finally returns to Alserkal Avenue this month for a weekend of art, food, entertainment and all-around good times. Centred around the theme of ‘Waking Dreams’, the two-day cultural festival celebrates the Al Quoz creative community through a variety of installations and activations. Visit The Yard for live music including a performance by Hamdan Al Abri; stay ‘til the early hours with a midnight movie marathon courtesy of Cinema Akil; attend painting workshops with the kids at thejamjar; or break a sweat at outdoor workout classes. The theme ‘Waking Dreams’ invites guests to “explore the liminal space between slumber and wakefulness” and experience a parallel universe for a weekend as Alserkal Avenue becomes a space suspended in time.
Last year’s festival was cancelled due to the pandemic and this year Quoz Arts Fest is back in full force – it will be the largest edition to date and features participants from the wider Al Quoz community such as The Courtyard, Times Square and The Smash Room as well as Alserkal Avenue’s much-loved outlets.
