With the festive season coming in haute, Hedi Slimane presents a Celine couture collection apt for celebration
As calendars begin to fill with festive celebrations and events, searching for a wardrobe to stun throughout the season can be a difficult task. Until now. The Celine AW23 couture collection by Hedi Slimane, Celine at the Wiltern, marries elegance with a punk rock edge and Slimane’s signature It Girl aesthetic.
The collection is named after The Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles where it first debuted last December. Hedi Slimane honours the history-rich, Art Deco landmark with an extravagant couture offering apt for the opera – think: sequins, hand-embroidered elements and lavish outerwear. As for the indie undertone, velvet suiting, slinky eveningwear, skinny ties and leather trousers come together in undone harmony, harnessing a morning-after-the-night-before attitude.
