Taylor Swift is in her Middle Eastern couture era. Next up: Lebanese designers Azzi & Osta

It’s no secret that Hollywood’s elite adore Middle Eastern designers; nobody captures the extravagance of couture quite like the region’s creatives. From Beyoncé wearing Nicolas Jebran for her epic Atlantis The Royal concert to celebrities strutting the Cannes Film Festival red carpet in Houses from across the Gulf, it is a spectacular feeling to see the region represented.

Taylor Swift does just that in the music video for her latest hit, Karma, in which she wears a dress by Lebanese designers Azzi & Osta. The megastar wears a silk gown from the Between Light and Sea Haute Couture collection complete with gold and silver sequins. It evokes images of Greek goddesses thanks to a cascading cape and embroidered leaves draped over the shoulders.

Taylor is no stranger to scattering symbolism throughout her music videos and Swifties – that is, her loyal fanbase – have deduced that her choice of ensemble is in reference to Themes, the goddess of justice.

Taylor is currently selling out arenas worldwide as part of The Eras tour, during which she has worn couture by Lebanese designers Zuhair Murad and Elie Saab.
