Prada launches Eternal Gold, a forward-thinking fine jewellery collection committed to sustainability

When a fashion House releases a jewellery collection, it is hardly ever ground-breaking news. That is, unless you're Prada. The Italian label announced its first-ever fine jewellery line, Eternal Gold, and it is revolutionising the jewellery industry as we know it.

Centred around sustainability and transparency, Prada utilised Certified Recycled Gold for the collection. Every material is traceable through a chip registered on the Aura Blockchain Consortium - a platform founded by LVMH, Prada Group and Cartier to increase transparency in the industry - that not only proves authenticity, but is embedded in 100 per cent recycled paper. The unprecedented move comes after the House switched nylon for recycled nylon and further demonstrates its forward-thinking approach to luxury.

Eternal Gold - a collection 14 months in the making - embodies Prada's minimal approach and is instantly identifiable; the triangle emblem is reimagined as earrings and pendants. The collection features sculptural pieces as well as statement-making necklaces where oversized hearts dangle from triangle-dotted chainlink.

What is the best way to announce a game-changing collection? With game-changing women, of course. Award-winning poet and activist Amanda Gorman; French actress, model and singer Maya Hawke; and musician Somi Jeon were adorned in the creations and photographed by David Sims for the Eternal Gold campaign.
