Jewellery Trends At Cannes 2016

0.5 min read

We’re looking at the bejewelled sirens who caught our eye at the 69th Cannes Film Festival, sporting millions of karats and carats in a variety of inventive designs and new-age trends.

Multi-coloured Stones

No longer is the Cannes red carpet overflowing with achromatic pockets of diamonds, but bouquets of colour and kaleidoscopic jewellery pieces with multi-coloured gemstones. Case in point, Naomi Watts wore a one-of-a-kind Bulgari high jewellery “Italian Extravaganza” necklace adorned with 130 carats of amethysts, 35 carats of rubellites, 52.79 carats of aquamarines and 6.13 carats of diamonds.

Sleek Ear Cuffs

The shift from statement chandelier earrings to sleek, sophisticated and fresh ear cuffs and studs is a welcomed one. From the Serti sur Vide diamonds by Repossi seen on Julia Roberts, to the Chanel fine jewellery diamond studs worn by Kristen Stewart, the ear cuff trend gathered a lot of attention on the red carpet.

Stacks of Solitaires

Adding a modern touch to fine jewellery, celebrities were spotted layering up statement stones on every finger this season. We’re loving Blake Lively’s Lorraine Schwartz solitaires teamed with her stunning engagement ring.
