Use the illuminating power of white to bring a glow to your everyday wear. They say black is classic, but white is achromatic - a colour without colour and in its purity is equally impactful. The colour needn’t be associated with formality but it certainly retains an air of elegance that steps away from the casualness of street-style fashion today. Here we’re looking at how to wear white to perfection for the weekend.

Shirt-Dress

No women can say she hasn’t owned a shirt-dress or wrap-dress at some point in time. This year we’ve been introduced to interlocking detail that’s produced hybrids of these two favourite pieces. Elements associated with shirtdresses such as flat pockets, sharp collars and traditional buttons have merged with wrap details to allow ease of wear. Look for quirky details like lacing at one hip or soft metal piping on the flat pockets, but always keep in mind that both stark white and crème white works well from day to night with the right accessories.

Easy Accessories

Many women have embraced the beauty of lower heels for both comfort and, more importantly, a new kind of elegance. Pair your white ensemble with equally illuminating accessories such as glinting silver and rose gold embellished footwear.

Say Yes To Suits

There is no excuse to say no to a bespoke day suit, especially when it’s as trendy as the ones made by Italian duo Dolce & Gabbana and the French atelier of Lanvin. Look for fabrics with sheen such as glazed cotton, silk cotton and lamé for a truly stand out approach to both day and eveningwear. If your fabric choice is particularly shiny remember to save it for evening engagements.
