Chanel Autumn/Winter 2022 is a love letter to tweed. Virginie Viard celebrated the House's emblematic fabric in everything from coats and co-ords to belts, brooches and buttons.

Chanel Autumn/Winter 2022 is a love letter to tweed. Virginie Viard celebrated the House's emblematic fabric in everything from coats and co-ords to belts, brooches and buttons. The Grand Palais Éphémère wasn't exempt from a tweed makeover, either. Walls, seating and the runway were adorned with the fabric; the blue-green runway represented the River Tweed in Scotland, a rumoured source of inspiration for Gabrielle Chanel.

Inspired by winter walks in the countryside and "the textures and colours of nature", pastels dominate Chanel Autumn/Winter 2022, though Virginie Viard injects her signature Rock and Roll spirit with lashings of heavy embroidery, sequinned separates and chunky, layered jewellery. Hunting coats, flat caps and oversized jackets evoke memories of a weekend away, where necessity leads to borrowing slightly-too-big-for-you pieces from your significant other. Colourful ribbed tights, fleece outerwear and cascading scarves complete the cosy ensembles. And, what would an adventure be without wellington boots? Whether thigh-high or classic, MOJEH predicts the style set will scoop them up come autumn. See our favourite looks above. Rewatch the show
